Cost structure of the support program
As a candidate for the Alcohol Lock Support Program, you may be required to complete a program for one year or longer.
Duration of 12 months
If you have been required to complete an Alcohol Lock program with a duration of 12 months, you will find the cost in the "Duration 12 months" column below.
Duration more then 12 months
If you have been required to complete a program for a period longer than 12 months, you will find an estimate of the cost in the "Duration > 12 months" column. For each additional 6 months, you will pay an additional cost of €125.

Additional downloadmoment
In some cases, an additional download slot is required. You must pay €150 for such an additional download slot. This can happen, for example, if you commit a violation of the program.

Example calculation for a duration of > 12 months
I have been sentenced for a period of 30 months. My cost (including VAT) for the Alcohol Lock program is:
€1200 (duration 12 months) + €125 (6 months) + €125 (6 months) + €125 (6 months) = €1575 (30 months)
Total Cost
In addition to the Alcolock support program at the Vias Institute, you must also pay the service center separately for the installation and reading of the alcolock system. The service center installs the alcolock system in your vehicle and reads the data from your alcohol interlock at set times.

The costs for installation, uninstallation and downloadmoments at the service center can be estimated at an average of €2500 for one year up to €4100 for three years.
Administrative costs
If you are ordered to use an Alcolock, you must surrender your driver's license – upon invitation – to the clerk of the court that issued the order. You will then receive a certificate that you must present to the municipal authorities. Afterward, you will receive a new driver's license, which will only allow you to drive vehicles equipped with an alcohol interlock.
This procedure entails an administration fee of approximately €25.
